Drug Offender Education Program
DSHS State Approved DOEP:
Education Resource provides state approved Drug Offender classes certified by Texas Department of State Health Services. This class is for individuals who have been charged with a misdemeanor or felony drug offense. This class will satisfy the requirement for education because of a suspended driver's license. The standardized program is 15 hours in length taught in three-hour segments. It is designed to educate participants on drug abuse. Participants will develop a personal action plan so that they can avoid future drug use and the resulting consequences.

 Five 3-hour sessions:
Monday 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Tuesday 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Wednesday 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Thursday 6:30pm to 9:30pm
Friday 6:30pm to 9:30pm

 

DOEP Class Policies:

  1. Students must register (online or by phone) prior to class in order to attend.
2. Students must not have had any alcoholic beverage or be under the influence of any drug before attending class.
3. Students must attend all sessions in their proper order.
4. Beverages and snacks are permitted during class sessions. Smoking is not permitted inside the building.
5. Cell phones and all electronic devices must be turned off during class.
6. The fee for this course is $90.00 (cash or money order) payable at registration the first day of class. The option to pay by PayPal is also offered when registration is completed . This fee must be paid prior to the admission to the first class and is not refundable.
7. All assigned worksheets and papers must be turned into the instructor in order to obtain the certificate of completion.
8. Students must make a score of 70% on the post test to receive a certificate.

Important – Please Note:

Approved Texas Drug Offender Education Programs are responsible for providing a certificate of completion to each participant upon successful completion of the program. The participant is responsible for providing the convicting court clerk with a copy of the serially-numbered certificate. The convicting court clerk will complete the CR-44 form (Supplemental Court Reporting Form) and forward it to the Department of Public Safety, who will then reinstate the person's driver's license.
